how could one not be aware that Deleuze is profoundly anti-social presently, as the anachronism that he presently is?

(…it’s not merely his Dutchness leaking through the philosophical framework.)

the pretext of those who now acknowledge interest in his work is, inevitably, toward a ‘quickening’ of the social…and yet, they are as anti-social as the work has itself deteriorated in the wake of failed social reconstruction.  truly I now see the genius of Godard’s appropriation of Badiou in this matter: Badiou’s critique of Deleuze: the alienation of ‘contemporary Deleuze.’  Deleuze is pop-philosophy in the present, ‘global’ social context, even the parts where he rails against this condition within his own text represent a non-efficacious mise en abîme:

“As long as one alternates between the impotent spontaneity of anarchy and the bureaucratic and hierarchic coding of a party organization, there is no liberation of desire.”

the present social framework is, itself, a party apparatus.  nothing forces its questioning.  along with Marx, we still presuppose philosophy, but what we have are mere thoughts.  it’s not tragic, it’s a condition.  the condition must be removed or one must admit of succumbing to it: its distraction, its diversion.
